Torsten Schlauersbach

He studied for his Bachelor’s and Master’s in Science and Architecture at the Technical University of Munich, graduating with Faculty Awards. During his studies he worked as an assistant to the Department of Architecture and Product Design. Prior to his studies he had a two year training as a carpenter.
He joined an excavation team in Selinunte for the German Archeological Institute in Rome responsible for the measurement of the acropolis for a historical atlas. He also worked for the London based office of Horden Cherry Lee where worked on the office building at Finsbury Square and Great Sutton Street.
Following graduation he worked for the New York-based design firm James Carpenter Design Associates Inc., working on a variety of projects including the Israel Museum in Jerusalem, the Hearst Ice Falls and the Farley Post Office redevelopment project and a private residence in Tribeca.
He joined Foster + Partners’ New York office as an Associate where he was involved in a wide variety of projects including the School of Management at Yale University in New Haven. Furthermore he worked on the high-rise residential tower project 50UN Plaza. As co-head with Annie he was responsible for overseeing the coordination of the shell and core package. He also worked on the design and oversaw the construction of British Architect Lord Foster’s Private Residence in New York.
After years of working on various projects, he co-founded the firm Haute Architecture D.P.C. with Annie.
His and the firms work has been published in numerous books and magazines including the award-winning New York Magazine. Their work was featured on Open House NYC.
He is a licensed architect in Germany.
