Location: Manhattan, New York
Gross floor area: 750 sft
Completion: June 2012
The goal for this eco laundry was to create an identity for the store in line with the company’s existing Buenos Aires location: clean and modern.
The touch of green serves as a discreet reminder of the laundry’s ecological philosophy. In line with this philosophy, sustainable materials were used wherever possible, i.e. energy efficient laundry machines, organic flooring materials, recycled steel as well as an energy-efficient mechanical system and lighting.
The space is organized around central working stations. These stations are moveable in order to increase the flexibility of the space; the store can be easily reconfigured to the staff’s changing needs. The result is a sleek yet functional space that is a generation ahead of your usual neighborhood laundry.
